At Tomatin they're not afraid to experiment with maturation in exotic cask types. For example, last year they released this Tomatin 14 Years Old Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tomatin Contrast is an exciting experiment to try and show the difference between bourbon and sherry maturation. For each they have used casks from the same vintages: 1973, 1977, 1988, 1991, 2002 and 2006. All of them in equal measure. So they used just as much old whisky as they did young whisky.
