The Longmorn 2005 15 Years from North Star Spirits may just be the mother of all sherry bombs. It comes at a high price but might actually be worth it.
A tad heavier than the most recent iteration of the Vega, if I remember correctly, in which I found some more subtleties. Still, a cracking whisky, and one that (if you were able to get one at original retail price) provides a whole lot of bang for your buck.
While earlier this year industry veteran Iain Croucher released a 40 year old blended malt for a very affordable price, he one-upped himself by bottling an even older whisky. The Vega 1976 41 Year Old is described by North Star Spirits as 'a sweet and spicy Speyside blended malt Scotch whisky with a touch of Islay'.
