I’ve never been a member of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, as I just never really understood why I should pay for the privilege to buy whisky. That being said, they do release proper whisky!

Distilled before the new owners took over Bruichladdich at the start of this millennium, this is a unique whisky isn’t very accessible. But if you give it a chance, you’re probably in for a pleasant surprise.

Not spectacular, but this Old Pulteney 23 Years Old Bourbon Cask is very solid. A little higher in strength, and who knows?
