If consistency would be a competition, than Caol Ila might just win. This Islay distillery produces consistently good, sometimes even great whisky, as this Caol Ila 2004/2016 from Gordon & MacPhail once again proves.
When nosing and tasting this whisky, I was transported back to a great sherried Port Charlotte that I had reviewed last year. This Ballechin is a triumph for Edradour.
Of course I couldn't tell you with absolute certainty whether or not this Orkney Single Malt 2004 13 Years Old is really from Highland Park, but you know... It has to be, right?
