Over the past few years we've been treated to numerous excellent examples of Speyside whiskies from the 1970s, either undisclosed single malts or blended malts.
Listed as a blended malt whisky, this most likely came from Highland Distillers (now part of Edrington), meaning there could very well be Macallan, Glenrothes and Tamdhu in this undisclosed Speysider.
I have quite some interesting stuff to choose from for an anniversary post. But when two packages arrived shortly after one another, both containing what are modern classics for sure, my decision was made for me.
Whiskybase just released not one, but two of these 1970s Speyside-gems at the same time. Oh, and as a bonus also a lovely sherried Speyside Region 1998. Is it Christmas already?
