A mature example of a young-ish Caol Ila, this is a great pick by Torsten and surprisingly affordable—I've seen Caol from the late 2000s go for much higher prices.
Of course I couldn't tell you with absolute certainty whether or not this Orkney Single Malt 2004 13 Years Old is really from Highland Park, but you know... It has to be, right?
Providing you love whisky, and don't live under a rock, you must've heard about Gordon & MacPhail's revamp of their Connoisseurs Choice range. This week I'll take a closer look at some of their new whiskies, starting with this Caol Ila.
Adelphi has released a series of heavily-sherried Benrinnes, all from 2006, all received rather well. This edition was released to commemorate the centenary of the RAF Benevolent Fund.
My only criticism here, is that it probably would've fared even better at a slightly higher strength. Otherwise the Springbank 13 Years Old Green is a great dram.
