A seriously good showing from Talisker, a distillery that despite much criticism for its many NAS offerings has a reputation to uphold. If anything, this rather cheap (it really is!) single malt lifts that reputation even higher.
This Talisker is a ballsy release, as it is both very young, and it has matured in refill cask. And that's surprising, considering that most young whisky released nowadays is very much wood forward.
Modern versions of the Talisker 25 Years Old are bottled at 45,8 percent, but this 2006 edition is from a time when they were still released at cask strength.
