Clynelish 1996/2014 Adelphi

7 October 2015 0 comments Article Clynelish, Highlands, Scotland, Tasting Notes

Now that is a nice combination. Clynelish, a malt distillery with a great reputation. And Adelphi, a top-notch independent bottler. One plus one might equal three here 🙂

Clynelish 1996/2014 (56,2%, Adelphi, C#6415)

Nose: Wow, this is fruity! Apple, pineapple and banana, with a hint of lime. Some minerals (wet rock) in the background.
Taste: Creamy and waxy with some chalk, but mainly fruit. Banana and lemon at the forefront. There’s some vanilla in the background, and it also has a spicy edge.
Finish: Some caramel, vanilla and yellow fruit.

Rating: 87

Not too complex, but the flavour profile is really appealing, and the balance is also good. I like this.
